After Katimavik, I plan on heading to Lethbridge Community College for two
years in Correctional Studies. I am confident that I will be able to achieve my
goals by using my leadership and languages skills that I have developed in the
past nine months.

Thanks to my newly developed French skills, I decided to move to Montréal.
I was able to find a great job and begin a BA in sociology.

Katimavik has taught me that working together is the key
thing to get anything done in life. If you don’t work together,

I’ve learnt to combine self-actualization with an ethical responsibility to my
community, my family and the environment. I’ve developed a moral outlook
and learnt how to express it in action. I would describe Katimavik as a crucial
form of active education for young people. This is combined with a vital role in
community building and volunteerism.

I think it’s important to always be aware of what our impact is, even it’s small
things like riding a bicycle or walking to places, and turning off the car whenever
you go inside. We live on this planet, so we need to conserve it and always be
aware of our consumption.

Katimavik has changed me a lot. I have learned to cook and
clean for 10 people, I have gained a lot of work experience, met
new friends from coast to coast, learned a new language and,
most importantly, experienced Canada first-hand.

cultures, religions and political beliefs from across Canada. I gained an

I have worked in many environments over the years as a manager. Based on
my experiences with Katimavik, I have been able to understand how conflict
resolution can be successful.
